Care Motika M.S, L.Ac.
My given name is Caren but everyone calls me Care. The word 'care' means grief, which acurately describes my practice well. I am greatly interested in supporting people with grief of all forms: with years of experience in palliative and end of life care. I have been in the healing arts field for over 20 years, beginning my formal training at the Tao Healing Arts College in 1999. I am a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist with a Masters degree from Emperors College and also have a background in both fashion and interior design. I have recently completed a Masters degree in Ecology from Schumacher College in Devon, England. My degree has allowed me to further my research in the field of Classical Chinese philosophy and medicine through the lens of ecology and narrative. Originally from California, I have had practices in Los Angeles, Joshua Tree, mid-coast Maine and have offered long distance sessions for people worldwide. My work and writing have been featured in Vogue Magazine, W Magazine, Freunde Von Freunden, Medicinal Roots & more.
*Window of the Sky, founded in 2015, was a platform that developed both healing and public spaces including boutiques, pop-up shops, healing centers, treatment studios and classrooms. Window of the Sky created zines, guides, articles, art, products and events dedicated to education, creativity, community, healing + beyond.
Window of the Sky closed in 2021 but the work will continue in new forms and ideations-
Thank you for your support over the years. Nothing would be possible without the support of the community that I have been blessed to serve.
